Violence cannot resolve any issue and that is why the government has chosen the route of dialogue for resolving the Kashmir issue, Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu said on Sunday, reports Eastern Mirror. “There can’t be peace and harmony in the society in the absence of non-violence. Our Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) emphasizes on development, and peace and harmony in the society is a must for development,” Naidu, a former union minister of Modi said while speaking at the “Ahimsa Diwas” function organised by Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti on its 13th Foundation Day. “Non-violence is also important because violence can’t resolve any thing, it can only lead to revenge. That is why the government recently decided to go for dialogue in Kashmir for establishing lasting peace there,” he said. Pertinent to mention that the government on October 24 announced the appointment of former Director of the Intelligence Bureau Dineshwar Sharma as its interlocutor for Jammu and Kashmir.
